At around the same time as the album's release, 2gether had a limited release as the album's first and only single, available at shows on the Act II tour and in The New Power Generation Store in Minneapolis and London.
In 1994, a slightly edited version of the song (removing the reference to "1993") was included as the sixth track on the album 1-800 New Funk (a compilation of mostly-unreleased music largely written and produced by Prince/, recorded by other Paisley Park Records artists).
This very entertaining date will stand up very well to repeated listening.

Vache's lyricism come through, whether utilizing a mute, as on the foot patting "If I Should Lose You" or a swinging "You and the Night and the Music," or with the open horn, especially in the warm rendition of "Easy Living." Charlap not only proves himself an incredible accompanist, but that he has a sense of humor, too, especially with his lush introduction to Duke Ellington's "Prelude to a Kiss," which briefly detours into Thelonious Monk's "'Round Midnight."
